Nothing leaves your Mac
that doesn't have to.

Last updated · April 28, 2026

The very short version

SlapMyMac listens to your microphone only to detect chassis taps. It analyzes volume peaks locally on your Mac. Audio is never recorded, never stored, and never uploaded to us or anyone else.

What we do collect

When you buy a lifetime upgrade, our checkout provider (Lemon Squeezy) processes the payment and gives us your email and a license key. We use that email to deliver your license and to email you when there's a meaningful update. That's it.

What we don't collect

  • Audio recordings, transcripts, or microphone metadata.
  • Slap counts, achievement progress, or how often you use the app.
  • IP addresses or location data beyond what your country VAT requires.
  • Cookies, ad identifiers, third-party trackers on this site.

Crash reports

If the app crashes and you choose to send the report, the diagnostic log is sent to us with no personal data attached. Reports are used to fix bugs, then deleted within 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of any data we have on you, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Just email hello@slapmymac.io .

Changes

If we change this policy in any meaningful way, we'll bump the "last updated" date and email anyone with an active license.
